The VIDEONALE.18, one of the most significant festivals for experimental video and moving images, is open for experimental works from the fields of single- and multi-channel video, video installation, performance, sound art, and virtual reality, and they cordially invite all artists and filmmakers to submit their works for the competition.

The Videonale – Festival for Video and Time-Based Art has been held in the temporary exhibition spaces of the Kunstmuseum Bonn since 2005 and welcomes an international professional audience of artists and filmmakers, festival organizers, curators, gallerists and collectors. Unlike other festivals, the Videonale presents the selected works in a large-scale exhibition and thus reflects on the possibilities of presenting time-based art in the gallery space.

With an exhibition designer and scenographer, independent architecture is developed to present moving images in an exhibition context. The selected works are staged as single presentations in the rooms and are simultaneously set in relation to other competition contributions. The exhibition opening is followed by three festival days packed with panels, lectures, artist talks, performances, guided tours, screenings, retrospectives, get-togethers, and workshops. Artists of all nationalities and ages can submit up to three works each, and there are no limitations on the duration and genre, but the submitted works may have been produced after January 1, 2018.

The deadline ends on June 30, 2020.

Just days away from its third iteration (and the second in London), Sunday School, conceived by Dom Stevenson (aka YAWS), is set to return on August 26th at the iconic New River Studios in North London. The lineup packs a fierce array of bands and live acts featuring heavy hitters like Russell Haswell and Autumns, among many others.
