Unsound Krakow festival passes are going on sale tomorrow, 6th June, at 4pm CEST, so grab them quickly, as they usually sell in a few minutes. This comes after the first announcements for the 2018 edition, with a theme this year exploring PRESENCE (physical and virtual).
Some highlight the Unsound team delighted us with yesterday include Alva Noto, making his Unsound debut, and JLIN returning to the festival with Company Wayne McGregor, presenting a specially produced version of the choreographer’s dance work Autobiography, inspired by McGregor’s own DNA sequence.
PAN, the record label which has had a regular presence in the festival from its early beginnings, will be celebrating 10 years, and they are bringing Amnesia Scanner will present the premiere of AS Oracle. The show will be one of those exploring how artists can incorporate emerging technologies into their work.
The programme also includes names such as pioneering musician Terry Riley, whose work has aspired toward spiritual transcendence since the late ’60s. Another usual suspect of the festival, Tim Hecker, will be back presenting special projects at Unsound. This year, he will bring a new show with traditional Japanese Gagaku court musicians. Lucrecia Dalt, Blawan and Marie Davidson are a few of the rest of the names of this announcement, including the varied and underground genres and styles from all over the world that Unsound have us used to. Check out the rest of the lineup here.
The Unsound team also say to stay tuned for another big announcement at the start of July, along with some details of the daytime discourse program, which is always a mind-stimulating addition.
