GAMMA Festival, various locations Saint Petersburg, 11-14 July 2019

The 4th edition of GAMMA festival will be held this year from July 11th to July 14th for fours days full of electronic and avant-garde music and modern culture. The festival will host this year a vast range of musicians and performances from the most avant-garde electronics, experimental ambient to techno. The festival will also hold a professional conference with representatives of music festivals from around the world, theorists and practitioners of media art, the initiators of the most innovative cultural projects will take the floor as speakers and participants. Deep Web, Kraftwerk Berlin, 12 July – 23 August 2019

EEP WEB the monumental immersive audiovisual installation and live performance created by light artist Christopher Bauder and composer and musician Robert Henke, return to its iconic birthplace, where Berliners and city guests will have six weeks to take part in this breathtaking art experience. Digital Ecologies II, Bath Spa University, 16 July 2019

A symposium where it will be discussed how fictional methods are being employed to rethink and renegotiate our relationship with current and future technologies; how such methods can be used from activist and political perspectives; how they can address and critique post-truth conditions; how they can reveal forgotten histories and non-human perspectives; and how they can be used to speculate on, and design, new futures. Sónar +D returns on its 7th edition to present the most advanced technologies and adventurous artists, designers, musicians and thinkers in the audiovisual and immersive experiences fields. This exhibition examines the theoretical framework of the Anthropocene, a concept used by some in the scientific community for this new geological era we live in, and a term that makes reference to its defining characteristic: the responsibility borne by humans as the agents of environmental change on a planetwide scale. Cindy Sherman, National Portrait Gallery London, until 15 September 2019

A major new retrospective that will explore the development of Sherman’s work from the mid-1970s to the present day, and will feature around 150 works from international public and private collections, as well as new work never before displayed in a public gallery. More info.
